A prey model raw diet is the imitation of our domestic carnivores’ natural diets, to provide optimal nutrition as closely as possible to how they have evolved to thrive in the wild over thousands of years. Human pet owners try to replicate the diet by feeding minimally processed meat cuts, organs, tendons, fat, bone and blood of either wild prey or commercially-raised domestic meat animals to mimic the feeding of whole prey animals over time. A prey model raw diet involves feeding a variety of cuts from a variety of animals to provide a more balanced and nutritious diet for our carnivorous pets. Where possible, feeding whole prey is recommended. Whole prey includes the head, feet, innards, fur or feathers of wild game or commercially-raised domestic meat animals.
